DERBY 3000

March 18, 2012, the resort of Gavarnie hosts again this year, the 3000 Derby, only Open International Ski Mountaineering in the Pyrenees this year.

For its 21th edition, this prestigious event will allow riders to cross a fabulous setting, tracing its way to the Breach of Roland, a mythical place in the Pyrenees National Park.

Nature and Friendship Club Tarbes, organizer of this event, based on the confidence of the French Federation of Mountain and Climbing (FFME) and the Federation Internationale de Ski Mountaineering (ISMF), put up all his expertise and competence to allow competitors from all backgrounds, to access a major race.

Cadet, hopes, juniors and seniors will meet on three routes in the mountains, accumulating 900, 1300 and 1700m of vertical drop and with technical passages.

Registration will open Monday, February 6.
